Mühlbergklinik

With 311 patient rooms, the Mühlberg-Klinikum in Malente, which opened in May 2006, is one of Germany’s most architecturally sophisticated and therapeutically well-equipped rehabilitation clinics. SIS’s task involved the graphic and conceptual design of a color-coded wayfinding and orientation system based on usage areas. Effective orientation design supports wayfinding and thus facilitates navigation within the clinic for patients. Here, the fields of mapping planning, conceptualization, and communication design seamlessly integrate and complement each other in a well-designed wayfinding system. SIS was also responsible for creating the specification of services and overseeing construction management.
