Unilever

The former headquarters of the global corporation Unilever at Strandkai in Hamburg’s HafenCity was successfully completed as early as 2009. It stands as a prime example of a highly successful collaboration with the architects from Behnisch & Partner and the client, Unilever. The atrium of the building serves as the central place for interaction and exchange among people. Bridges, ramps, and stairs connect central areas like in a city, forming a network of paths throughout the space. The signage system embraces this communicative concept and integrates into the extraordinary architecture with large-scale core markings, floor inlays, and flexible employee boards for orientation. The signage system in the underground parking garage was designed to be bright and large-scale, resulting in a cohesive signage concept from the initial contact at the central entrance to the door signs and workplace identification for the approximately 1,200 employees.
